Kirstie |2010-08-06 21:34:00
My name is Kirstie and I'm 18. I came across this website in order to help me over come a fear of sex. When I was younger I was sexually abused and I cannot get over the fear no matter how hard I try, with therapy sessions and talking to people.

I want to fall in love, and when I do, I hope that my fear of intimacy and relationships will be long gone, compared to my days now. I want to be able to love someone the way everyone else does, and I want to be loved the same way back.

I hope that one day this will be possible, by trying hypnotherapy.
Lisa  - Visualise your future |2010-08-06 21:34:32
Over the years l have experienced something they call the law of attraction. We have all heard of 'The Secret'. But in reality can we really visualize what we want for our future. All l can say, is that this has happened to me at different stages of my life. When l was a single mum, l visualized the type of man l was looking to enter my life, he did, and l has been married to him now for 18 years. When l started a new job 15 years ago, some staff where able to drive a company car. L spent a lot of time visualizing this for myself and it happened. Year’s later l looked to change direction in my career, l concentrated on this visualization and yes, l changed careers. If l could do this now and then, who wouldn't like to learn how to do this type of attraction all the time!!!
Meghan  - Make it Fun, Make it Easy, Make it Cheap |2010-08-06 21:35:33
If we as a community want to encourage healthy habits in our members, we should make it fun, easy, and cheap. There is a very entertaining website that shows examples of this. One of the most popular shows people exiting the subway. As we watch, huge majority of them choose to take the escalator instead of the stairs (a minimal physical exertion.) Then workers install special fittings over the steps, and now walking on a step produces a sound like striking a piano key. Running up or down the steps sounds like fingers running over piano keys. The video shows how individuals now choose to take the stairs in large numbers. People go up and down several times just for the fun of hearing the music. If you are interested, the website is TheFunTheory.com and there are other examples of how making good choices the fun choice can encourage the behaviors we want.
Lynne  - a pit of hidden hurt |2010-08-06 21:36:17
I find it difficult to say my friend's name. I find it difficult to look at her picture. I find it difficult not to think about her. I find it difficult not to feel guilt. I find it difficult not to hurt. I find it difficult to speak to the Detectives. Yet, not many know this as I have learnt to be a master at hiding thoughts, feelings, everything actually.
You see, my friend died. Very violently. Very unnecessarily.
How do I help myself? I write. I write down everything I remember. Everything I feel. I know I need grief counseling and one day I'll get there. For now, I write. I cry, but I write.
poppy treklis-knights  - waves of emotions-im drowning-need a life saver! |2010-08-06 21:36:36
I have been driven mad over the years thinking I had one of those neuroses of it all being in my head only to find that I actually have ms! Even though I look very normal, I feel as though I’ve gone through a war zone with in myself and I’m always barking at the kids and hubby doesn't understand and brothers don’t care as long as they get their way, I’m a my wits end of doing everything for everyone else and no-one considering me and my emotional ripples that are now becoming like waves, I’m am drowning in sorrow and anger - desperately need help as I’m beginning to think and feel as if I have worth or place in this life!
Gwendolyn  - living with anxiety |2010-08-06 21:36:58
Hyperventilating: I learnt to reduce the incidence/severity of it by practicing breathing in through the nose (or mouth if more comfortable) and filling my stomach with air first (then chest) so the stomach fully expanded with each inward breathe. I practiced this breathing when I could. I also of course, tried it in panic attack times (not easy), as it's hard to co-ordinate a steady breathing rhythm in this state, but always worth trying.

I've done many home-grown things over the years to try and help myself. I hope one day to be free of it. I wish that for you too.
